SCHOOL SAFETY AND SECURITY

We want to continue to make this building a safe place to work and go to school.  Your cooperation will increase the probability that all children will remain safe. School safety and security are paramount here at Lower South and the following security practices at our school are for the protection of all students and staff. 

·         ALL parents and visitors must report to the office upon entering the building, and will state their purpose of the visit  within the school.

·         ALL parents and visitors employees will be given a visitor/identification badge to wear before going to another location in the school.

·         NO parents or visitors should go directly to a classroom or student area without the permission of the office staff, including the beginning of the school day.  Many teachers are busy preparing for the day, therefore please stop by the office and set-up an appointment to meet with the teacher.

Lower South staff will call the school office to report any parent or visitor who is in a student area and does not have appropriate visitor/identification badges.

Recess is for students only.  Parents should not be on the playground nor in the classroom (indoor recess) during these times.

Adults who call for a child because of the need for an early dismissal must be listed on the emergency card.  It is critical that we have current information for all of our children.  Also, send a note of explanation to the teacher.  We require identification if our staff does not know you.

Please send a note to the teacher if your child is going home in a different manner than usual.
